Well, we did it.
We packed ourselves up and moved up to Rexburg to begin our new adventure.
Let me tell you, it wasn't an easy process. I haven't really moved before, so it was a new experience for me. We packed and cleaned and packed and cleaned for a few days. We were covered in black from newspaper after carefully wrapping our fragile items, our fingers were raw from the deep scrubbing and the harsh chemicals. But I can't imagine what a terror it would have been if we didn't have the help of our wonderful friends and family! Thank you all so much. It was so appreciated!
We will sure miss our first home. We made a lot of great memories and friends.
We were sad to leave, but we are also very exctied to make new memories and new friends at our new home!
We promise to keep you posted.

Breaking News!!
**Please Stay Tuned for an Important Announcement**
We're moving.
Yep. It's the truth.
Tom has officially been accepted to BUY-I for the Fall/Winter track. Since his dad is now teaching there, Tom gets something like 72 FREE credits. That equals out to just over 2 years worth I believe. How neat is that? And it is because of that, we have decided to move ourselves up to Rexburg to take advantage of this opportunity.
Tom already has a job lined up with the Salt Lake Express. In fact, he's been hired and has already done a few jobs. He is also excited to start a little lawn mowing business when he gets there. Chambers Lawn Care, where you'll get "mow" for your money!
We have an apartment set up as well. It will be a basement apartment that has, how you say "lots of charm," and we're going to love it. We'll be the managers for another apartment (the upstairs) that houses 6 girls. The couple that is there right now will be moving out on April 6th. The landlord wants to take a weekend to spruce things up a bit, and we'll be moving in on the 10th.
I have never moved anywhere besides from my parents house to the apartment that I have lived in for just over a year. Moving quite frankly freaks me out. But I'm excited! It will be a new adventure for Tom and I, and will give us a great opportunity to grow closer as we face new challenges.
So stay tuned as we get ready for this new chapter in our Book of Life: The Chambers Family.

With Love...
February is the month of love, especially at the Chambers home. Well, every month is for newly weds, right? But February is special.
The obvious reason #1 is Valentine's Day. Tom is my one and only Valentine. Ever. Precious, huh? I think so. He's the best Valentine.
I wanted to do lots of nifty crafties to decorate, but I only got to a few. I found a great template online for paper flowers and made a few of those. I never got around to making exactly what I had envisioned for them, but these are my practice ones.

Next year I want to do more of the newspaper and maybe stain them a reddish color. Wouldn't that be pretty? We'll see what happens.
My next projects were my Love and Kisses blocks. My mom and I went and roamed the craft store until we found them. She only attempted the love one though. This picture is before they are completely finished. And, I'll admit, I still don't have them completely finished. It's a work in progress.

The #2 reason for the special month of love is (and it is not number 2 in importance, just on this particular list) OUR FIRST ANNIVERSARY! I can hardly believe that Tom and I have been married for over a year now. It's amazing.
And Tom sure did spoil me...

He gave me a Kindle Fire and along with it, he wrote a little diddy about how he wants to forever Kindle the Fire of our love. Mushy stuff. But I love it!

Call It Luck, If You Will
Tom constantly insists that he is the unluckiest person alive. He is always stopped by every red light and any train going through town, among other things. I insist he's pretty lucky because he has me... But there are times I have to agree that he comes across some pretty unfortunate circumstances.
He has had some bad luck with rings though.
And some really good luck.
Our lucky ring story goes as follows:
See these rings? These are our wedding rings.

This story involves both of our rings.
Chapter I - The Wedding Band
Tom bought me a gorgeous ring that had a small, simple wedding band - you know, the part that fits the ring but isn't worn until you're married. He kept that piece in the little black velvet ring box that he proposed with. One day, he lost it. He couldn't find it ANYWHERE. He searched his house up and down, asked everyone he knew, cleaned his car and searched it many times over. No luck. It was nowhere to be found. After accepting defeat, we went to Molinelli's Jewelers to order a new band. It came and we were set.
Unlucky.
We forgot about the little black box with the original wedding band... until one day...
I was getting into the passenger's side of our car. I raised the arm rest and THERE. IT. WAS. The little black box was under the arm rest, nestled tightly between the two seats. I could not believe my brown eyes! Tom and I celebrated that we had finally found it and laughed that it was later than we had hoped. We had no use for an extra band, so we journeyed back to Molinelli's with hopes to return the unused band. Unfortunately they could not refund our money as the original ring company wouldn't take it back. But they did offer to exchange it for store credit, that ended up coming in really handy...
Lucky.
Chapter II - Sunny Skies and Still 6 Inches of Snow
During the whole wedding band incident, the day of our wedding arrived. It was lovely, and though it had its hitches, it turned out just right. We were married in the morning in Salt Lake where the skies were blue and the sun was shining. We couldn't have asked for a prettier February day. After all of those festivities, we returned to Pocatello for the reception. Towards the end of the drive, the weather started to turn nasty. It started to lightly snow just before the reception... and then it kept snowing... and snowing... and snowing. So much snow that many people couldn't come to our reception because they were afraid if they left home they would not be able to get back. It all turned out lovely though.
Molinelli's has a promotion called Pray For Rain. If you purchase your ring there and put your name and wedding date on their calendar, you ought to pray for rain -or snow in our case. If on your wedding day there is more than 1/2" of rain or 3" of snow at the Pocatello Airport, you get your ring for free! Likely, right? (sarcasm) Well...
Check this out.
Believe it. 5.9" of snow on February 25, 2011 = $2000 check.
We were the first ever winners since they started the promotion in 2009. We were famous.
In the paper and on the news. We were a pretty big deal.
Lucky.
Chapter III - Ultimate Frisbee
Tom really enjoys a lively game of Ultimate Frisbee. This past summer one game in particular stood out to us. I got off work about 10:00pm (when I used to work evenings at the Front Desk) and met him at ISU's quad where he was playing. He grabbed his shoes and we left. The next morning, he realized he didn't bring home his watch or ring. He knew it was in his shoes so we couldn't figure out how it wasn't home. Someone must have stolen it... But instead of jumping to conclusions we searched our apartment up and down, then searched the quad, then called ISU's grounds department. Nothing. Nowhere to be seen or heard of. That was early in May. So, Tom needed another ring. Good thing we had a store credit... We found one and continued on. Five months or so later we bought Tom another watch when his backup one broke. We were lucky enough to find one exactly like the one he lost.
Unlucky. (But lucky too... with the store credit and the watch find.)
Chapter IV - Charlie, the Friendly Bus Mechanic
Charlie, the friendly bus mechanic works with Tom. They are pretty good buddies, as far as co-workers go. One day as Tom was getting off work, Charlie came to take the bus to gas it up when he noticed Tom's watch.
"I have one just like that I will sell to you..." Tom thought it odd that he offered to sell him an identical watch, but he continued the conversation. "Why do you have that watch?"
"I found it."
"Are you kidding me?"
"No, and it had a wedding ring on it..."
Say it ain't so! Tom was flabbergasted!! (I was too, but I don't know about it yet)
And so he commenced telling Charlie about the summer Ultimate game and how he hadn't seen his watch and ring since. Tom described the ring exactly and Charlie offered to bring it back to him the next day at work. Seven months since he had lost it, he found out his co-worker had it all along.
"I was going to pawn them off, but just never got around to it..."
Lucky. Lucky. Lucky.
So... Lucky or unlucky? Isn't it strange that in every day life the unlucky things greatly outweigh the lucky things? We claim to be unlucky, unfortunate, and forsaken, and yet there are so many blessings in our lives. Amazing.
Well, I'd say we're lucky when it comes to the things that matter most. (I can't deny that every train in Pocatello hunts for Tom though) More than lucky, we are blessed. Tremendously blessed.
Tom's ring is a perfect example of how God does hear and answer our prayers, but in his own time, not ours. If we keep that in mind, we can easily see how lucky we are.

Sardines Are Icky...
I love my husband. I really, really, truly do. He's so good at helping me expand my tastes, especially in food. I don't like olives, so Tom always takes the oppurtunity to help me practice eating them, in hopes that someday I will grow to like them. The same goes for other items such as baby corn, vienna sausages, and -you guessed it- sardines...

In Louisianna Hot Sauce no less. Because, you know, everything is more appealing in Louisianna Hot Sauce.

CAUTION: When eating sardines for the first time, under NO circumstances should you smell them...

They stink. But that is not the worst part.

Wait until you open the can and see them for the first time.

If that doesn't convince you that these little buddies are delicious, I don't know what else will.

Who could resist that face? Obviously, my husband can because I still...

Ate them.
Really, sardines aren't that horrid. They actually taste a lot like tuna. Once you get past the scales and the bones and the fact that you are basically eating a whole fish, they aren't too bad. Though I still don't think I would recommend them.
